Learn More About Us and Our Work

I had never envisioned myself being where I am today. I was a stay at home mom for 13 years and I loved it, but I decided to go back to school because my daughters were getting older. I attended Lancaster School of cosmetology and fell in love with the program because of my amazing teacher who pushed me to discover my passion. With the help of my daughters, I graduated in 2012.

I have worked at several local spas that helped me create my unique vision of the relationship I wanted with my clients. I don’t take the perfect hair, dressed up, tons of makeup kind of approach when it comes to working with clients. Maybe before I had kids, but not now, who has time! When clients get skin treatments they are at their most vulnerable. Everyone feels insecure when showing someone what they believe to be their insecurities, whether it be large pores, sun damage, breakouts, etc.. Adding in someone you have never met looking flawless doesn’t help you feel better either. I’ve been there personally, and it is extremely uncomfortable.

I grew up with sensitive skin and a lot of acne issues. I tried everything, including those home remedies that never work. I’m so glad Pinterest wasn’t created yet; I can only imagine what lengths I would go to to clear my skin as a teenager!

Through my education in skincare I learned the how's, what's, and whys of acne and it’s now my passion to help those who have also struggled. There’s no quick fix. I’ve worked with all skin types, concerns, and conditions, and treatment lengths depend on all of those factors. My education did not stop at Lancaster School of Cosmetology. I have over 1200 hours post graduate hours and have certifications in lash extensions, acne, Greet the Day oncology course, Dermalogical Expert Certification, diseases and disorders of the skin and many more. My education never stops. I have been licensed for ten years and I opened Skin Sanctuary in 2013. I have a staff that is dedicated in making you feel beautiful and your absolute best. We are always learning, growing and bringing exciting services to the spa.

My family is a significant part of my business. My oldest daughter used her love for digital art to create my logo. She is also a veterinarian nurse specializing in surgery. My youngest daughter always edits and refines my social media posts. She is a senior in high school planning on her next steps for college. I recently got married to my husband who did all of the renovations on the spa and is currently working towards future additions to the building. We currently have six rescue pets, four dogs and two cats. We are drawn to older dogs to ensure we give them a great life before they pass.
